A short yet exciting demonstration of the land skis in action.
This is a taken apart skateboard truck. The bushing with the black sharpie on the top shows what part I cut off to increase the turning capability. By taking off this part of the bushing the wheel base would have enough support from the center fo the bushing, but would lose the stability to the left and right. This is not possible with a skateboard because you would lose all of your balancing capabilities, but since you have two skis, you can balance between the two quite easily.
This was my first prototype and design sketch. When I started the project I imagined that skis could be ridden with two wheels on each edge, not considering the fact that the skis would flex without adequate support under the foot.
